My Girl, Lisa…

Morning! Even though the rain on this Monday morning is currently causing my bed to morph into some sort of gravitational pull/vacuum type deal of cushy persuasion and I feel like I can actually hear it calling my name and gently reminding me of the level of comfort it could provide me provided I just get IN it, a level that is no where near what my computer chair is willing to offer, I am kind of digging it. I mean, really. If I had to get up this morning, actually shower and put on clothes, get in a car and go to an office there is a strong possibility that I would have driven the car I got into off a cliff. God love all of you who do it day after day. You are warriors. You warrior office, hospital, educational institution and labor workers. I applaud you from the comfort of my home wearing my pajamas that I have no intention of taking off until sometime tomorrow morning when I decide that I will resume showering again.

Even though there is no sun in sight this morning, I am going to share with you a little of my own personal sunshine. My great friend, Lisa Gilbert, who is a phenomenal photographer here in the South Shore, needed some new head shots for her site and I was happy to help her out.  There aren’t enough good things that I can say about Lisa. She has worked her way into my life and is now such a close friend and for that I am thankful. She makes me laugh out loud daily and she makes me feel like I am as important to her as she is to me.  She is generous with compliments, which I find is a trait that not many people have and is one of the many reasons she is so awesome.  She is human and doesn’t pretend not to be and she is loyal. She is smart and knowledgeable and wise in many ways.  She is beautiful inside and out and I am so happy that she is in my corner.

Lisa had her makeup done by the wildly talented Kelly O’Keefe at Tryst Studio in Hingham. I think I have a girl crush on Kelly if you want to know the truth. I am not ashamed to say it. So there.

All of these pictures are so “Lisa” to me. She is light and sunshine, sand and warmth. Waves and sea grass and wide open laughter that is quick and easy to come spilling out.

I just love these. It is so Lisa.
Lisa’s absolute and total love of her life, Calder.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Lisa’s new guy that day, Erik, and his little girl , Annika. They really didn’t have much of an option when I asked (and by that I mean TOLD) them to get together for a picture. This picture makes my little cup run right over.
Love, love, love you lady. xo, Rachel

Your strong and steady friendship is reason enough for me to have a heart full of sunlight — that you were able to capture the people I love the most in this life brings me joy I can’t even begin to describe. You are my hero, sister. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. xoxoxo
